Week Ending 9/29

 Well, that was interesting.

Has a doctor's appointment this week. As I may have mentioned I haven't been doing great. So, we talked about it. In the end, I managed to talk myself out of going on Metformin for my type-2 diabetes because managing it with diet seems to be working.

Really, I considered going on it because eating is my comfort place when I'm down... and I've been down a lot lately. So, the doctor suggested we try something... lowest possible dose anti-depressant...  for my mood and I agreed.

That was... interesting. The pills may me jittery (literally hands shaking) and manic for a couple of hours and then I crashed hard and could hardly get out of bed I was so tired for the whole rest of the day. Until night-time, when I had trouble getting to sleep. All in all, not a success. I stopped taking them over the weekend. The first day off them I felt really good but now I'm feeling down and tired again. I'm wondering if there is a way to take an even lower dose... because I think they helped. They just helped a little too much. Something to call to the doctor about next week.

Otherwise, not a bad week. I got some minis painted, some chapters written and even got in a game of Age of Sigmar with Juno (she kicked my butt, which was cool).

Next week is my birthday. Looking forward to that. (touch wood)

Week Ending 9/22

Well, this week was better than last week.

I'm still pretty tired, brain fogged and wearing out easily, but not as bad as I have been. Really, I've managed to get some chapters written and painted some minis. Best of all, yesterday, Juno and I had a great gaming session to wrap up our current campaign. Which, if you're not a tabletop roleplaying gamer, let me just say is a big deal... especially since we've haven't managed more than short sessions, and more often than not just putting it off, since just after our trip because I've been feeling so bad.

Also, D is taking a database class, and I just helped him out debugging some code he was writing. It's nice to know I can dust off those skills.

So, yeah, on the whole feeling better than I did. Still not great, but better.

Week Ending 9/15

Second verse, same as the first.

Really, been feeling pretty rotten this week. Very tired, unable to concentrate. Not sleeping well, which doesn't help.

Yesterday Juno and I planned to get in some gaming, but by the time she was up and ready in the morning, I was crashing hard. Very frustrating.

Last night, I slept a bit better. This morning, I felt a bit better. So, I decided that, even though I didn't feel great, I was going to try to do a few things. Managed to put some paint on minis and even managed to get in a short gaming session with Juno. Felt better for having finally done something, even though I crashed pretty hard afterward.

All in all, not a great week but not a horrible one in the end.

Pretty tired now, so going to rest.

Week Ending 9/8

Nothing much to report this week.

Things aren't great but they aren't really bad either.

Still fighting off this cold but starting to feel better. Managing to get some writing done. Otherwise doing a lot of resting, watching movies and not much else.

So, really nothing much to report.

All in all, not bad.

Week Ending 9/1

So, this has been a week of ups and downs,

First the downs. With the new semester starting up, new germs are making the rounds and I caught one. Other than feeling a bit congested, I haven't really felt sick-sick, but I have been way more tired than even my usual. So, it's pretty much been a week of laying around not doing much at all and overdoing it whenever I've tried to do anything. Not fun.

For the ups, I found a new Sims forum. Sim Creatives is a small, fan run forum using forum tech that very similar to what the old EA Sims forums used. Right now, it's a nice little community of SimLit writers and other escapees from the dumpster fire that is the new EA forums. I may have found a new place to share my story.

The other up for the week is that I've kicked off posting my next Wyrd Tales story. View from the Mountain is a short story featuring my main characters - Miranda and Mariah - catching up with old friends and seeking out an old man on the mountain. It's mostly setting the stage for some future stories while hopefully filling in a narrative continuity gap.

Which brings me to another other down, which is that writing on my next Wyrd Tale - Strangerville Mystery - is a bit stalled. I'm working my way around a bit of writer's block, not helped by being too tired to really think about it much. I'll get there.

So, ending on an up, I had a chance to talk to my mom's case worker nurse - Sage. Sage reached out to me and we had exchanged a few texts. This week we spoke on the phone. I find Sage is a very charming and dedicated young person. I'm feeling that mom has a good person in her corner in Sage. So, that's great.

Now, I'm going to get some more rest.

Week Ending 3/15

Hey, it's me... So, I'm sick and I've had a really rough week. So while I have a few things to talk about, I'm not up to it...
